HARASSMENT

Coming to work should always be something you should look forward to. For no reason should you have to deal with harassment that can damage not only your work performance but also your personal health.


However, it is important to differentiate the hostile environment the individual might be dealing with. There is a difference between the employer being rude and out of place and an employer who is creating a hostile environment as a result of the individuals “protected class”.


It is important that the individual is clear about the harassment they might be facing at work so that they can receive appropriate help. There are certain classes that an individual might belong to that the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) prohibits harassment and discrimination.
